Barbel Wansbour Riti Ziku is a development professional with more than a decade of experience in programme management, results-based reporting and government partnerships with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Solomon Islands.

Since 2016 she has served as UNDP's Results, Resources Management and Communications Analyst in Honiara. She coordinates the country office's results reporting, monitoring and evaluation, and plans the budgeting and delivery of around USD 7 million in resources each year. She represents UNDP at the monthly Development Partners group, facilitates coordination between UNDP and the Solomon Islands Government, and provides quality assurance across the design, implementation and evaluation of projects. She has run workshops on results-based management for government and UN partners, and in 2019 acted as Coordination Officer to the UN Resident Coordinator, supporting the UNDAF review and liaising with government.

From 2011 to 2015 Barbel was UNDP's Governance Programme Associate, helping design and implement governance projects, preparing briefing materials for official missions, and ensuring financial and project compliance, audit readiness and budget control. She began her career with Pasifiki Services as a Programme Assistant for the Volunteers for International Development programme, supporting international volunteers and their host organisations. There she organised orientation programmes, matched volunteers with host organisations and monitored their placements.

Barbel holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in Public Administration and Management and Marine Affairs, both from the University of the South Pacific. She brings expertise in governance, financial oversight, monitoring and evaluation, and building strong working relationships between development partners and national institutions.
