What impact is my money making?

Your savings do two jobs: they earn returns for you — and, invested at home, they help build the economy where members live and work.

Some of the Fund's most visible investments are businesses and infrastructure Solomon Islanders use every day. Here are five of them, in the order the Fund committed.

Investments that built things

Milestones from the Fund's domestic investment history, in the order they were committed.

  1. 2006 — South Pacific Oil

    SINPF invested SBD 40 million for 75% of the company and later took full ownership. Its profits stay with Solomon Islanders.

  2. 2009 — Heritage Park Hotel

    Opened at Point Cruz, built into the old Government House, in partnership with PNG's Nasfund.

  3. 2009 — Solomon Housing

    SINPF took over the Government's Housing Corporation (now Solomon Housing Limited) and began building homes.

  4. 2016 — Coral Sea Cable

    SINPF backs the Solomon Islands side of the undersea cable linking Honiara, Port Moresby and Sydney.

  5. 2022 — Solomon Finance

    A SINPF-owned lender begins offering personal, education and home loans to Solomon Islanders.
